Portable Tables And Bed Trays Can Make A Senior Citizen’s Life So Much Easier!

From functioning as a work desk to serving dinner in a living room easy chair, a good quality portable under the sofa table will be your elderly loved one’s best friend.

These portable tables scoot right up to the sofa, sofa or bed, making it very easy to move the table around to suit your favorite senior citizen’s needs.

Good portable tables, like those below, allow for various positions for tilting to and fro. Raising and lowering these sofa side tables is also quite easy by either pressing a lever or turning a handle.

All raise high enough to get over a sofa or easy chair arm and present the table surface right in front of your senior friend.

I use my Mom’s portable table for my own little computer desk now that she’s gone. I even have one on my balcony to hold my coffee cup while I work on my website. There’s a myriad of use for these little tables.

Portable Tables For Under Sofas, Recliners, or Lift Chairs

The portable tables are made with a very low stand so they are specifically designed to slip right under the edge of a recliner or sofa. When my elderly Mom lived with me, her recliner table was one of the best things we bought – besides the toilet seat booster or the Drive Medical companion wheelchair.

Also, please note, only the Able Life Able Tray, the first link below, is meant to be used as a handle for sitting or standing. Please make sure your elderly loved one does not lean on the others as they are not stable enough to use in this capacity.

Note: there might be some minor assembly required of these portable tables, but it’s really minor – ie, I could even do it….

Portable Tables For Beds

The portable tables below are meant to be used under beds or other surfaces that have a wide clearance from the ground.

I used to use these for my Mom when she was too ill to sit all the way up. A bed tray (with my hand holding) just seemed easier to use. As a nice sideline, I use these now to serve my darling boyfriend breakfast in bed – and he me. There’s always a pretty flower sitting on one of these bed trays even when it’s not in service.
