I try to do the newspaper crossword puzzle daily and have for years. Back when Mom was with me, I’d frequently get hung up on a word which she could easily come up with – it amazed me on a daily basis. Mom wasn’t much of a crossword puzzle lover until I bought here a large print crossword puzzle book of her own. She loved it!

We’d sit down with a cup of tea and work one of her crossword puzzles together, although she’d rarely need me to assist. I was more the re-filler of her tea cup….

Besides spending some quality time with your elderly loved one, studies have shown that exercising the brain is a great way to keep memory functions working.
