My Mom had a few things that she just loved to get as gifts. Leading the pack was a pretty melamine tray like the one holding Mom’s lunch in the picture to the left.

A tray made of melamine is great for the elderly as it’s unbreakable and very lightweight so it won’t be heavy when balanced on an elderly loved one’s lap. These trays are also very easy to clean – just wipe down with a wet cloth and let dry.

There were few times that I saw a bigger smile on Mom’s face than when I entered her bedroom with coffee, her toast, and a flower on a pretty melamine tray. Dinner served to her in her easy chair was another bonus in her mind.
