An Electric Fireplace Adds A Touch Of Warmth To Any Room

Wood fireplaces might not be the best idea for the elderly due to fire hazard, however, an electric fireplace could be the perfect solution! My Mom loved the electric fireplace we put in her bedroom – it was on most winter nights and added warmth and ambiance to an otherwise boring room.

Electric fireplaces are quite safe these days. And, unlike some space heaters, you won’t have to worry about them being tipped over (or being tripped over….) and becoming a fire hazard or shutting themselves off.

Electric fireplaces these days usually have remote controls and even heat control. If ambiance is the main necessity, just turn off the heat and watch the flames flicker away. Some electric fireplaces even have remote controls with dimmer switches so that the ‘flames’ can be adjusted from dim to bright. Pretty cool, if you ask me.

If the room has no floor space, an electric fireplace that goes on the wall may be the ticket. Both floor models and wall model fireplaces are below. One of these would make an excellent Christmas present for an elderly loved one.
