In my opinion, a clock that tells the day of the week along with the time is one of the very best gifts in the world for a senior citizen and their caregiver. The day clock there at the top left is one of the best sellers on my site for a reason – it’s the perfect size (8.5″) so fits on a bedside stand and has the crispest readout I’ve ever seen. Even though with failing vision can see the bright white letters on the dark background.

Gift cards to restaurants may seem like a boring Christmas gift yet they might just be the perfect gift for an elderly loved one who has everything (and likes a good steak!). I preferred gift cards to restaurants over gift cards for products if I have a choice as I knew my folks would get out for a ‘date night’ once in a while.

Gripper Socks

Socks with gripper bottoms will help the elderly stay upright where they should be. The below are nice quality – I used the Noble Mount’s for Mom and even turned them into sock snowmen as gifts for her caregivers after she died.

Both Mom and Dad talked of Saturday nights, sitting around the old radio listening to the latest installment of a radio program.
