Infinity Scarves

 Lina & Lily Loving Hearts Print Infinity Scarf Valentine’s Day GiftI used to think that infinity scarfs were kind of goofy. That thought changed when I realized that, by wrapping Mom’s neck in an infinity scarf, I wouldn’t always be picking said scarf up off the ground or rearranging it anytime she changed positions. This particular type of scarf must have been created with senior citizens in mind.

Since Mom didn’t like to have a heavy scarf around her neck, our favorite infinity scarves were made of the lightest material, mostly polyester or silk. A silk infinity scarf has the added benefit of doubling the warmth provided as silk is very insulating. And, with the number of these scarves now on the market, it’s easy to find one (or ten….) to match whatever outfit your elderly loved one is wearing.

Inevitably, some sort of food or stain would appear on Mom’s scarf. A quick hand wash for the silk ones and she was back in business – the silk infinity scarves should not be machine washed although I will admit to accidentally washing one on the delicate cycle. It came out beautiful anyway.
