Drive Medical Economy Transport Chair, 19 Inch, Blue
Looking For An Inexpensive Transport Chair? The Drive Medical Economy Transport Chair Is In Your Future
You won’t find a lot of bells and whistles in the Drive Medical Economy Transport Chair, but what you will find is a very reliable transport wheelchair that is light and easy to transport.
Note: a transport wheelchair is a wheelchair that is meant to be used with a caregiver pushing it. It’s impossible to wheel oneself in a transport wheelchair as the wheels are only 8-12″ in the back. This does make the wheelchair very light though and was our go-to choice for outings.
My Mom had this Drive Medical Transport Chair which we used 5 full years with no issues except the occasional tune up for the brakes.
Drive Medical is a brand you can trust and rely upon. In fact, that picture right there is a picture of my Mom and me on one of our frequent outings. She was a 94 year old woman in that picture – not bad, huh?
So, come see why the Drive Medical Transport Chair is one of the most popular sellers on Amazon.com.
Product specifications for the Drive Medical Economy Transport Chair
This wheelchair may be inexpensive but that doesn’t mean that it won’t get the job done and get it done well. The below are the product specification for this particular Drive Medical wheelchair.
- 19″ seat. Accommodates people up to 250 lbs.
-
All carbon steel frame. A carbon steel frame is not only very strong but it’s also light. This transport wheelchair weighs in at just 19 lbs making it very easy for a caregiver to load into or out of a car.
-
There’s two small levers on the back of this transport wheelchair that, when pressed, folds the back of the chair down for easy storage or transport. There’s also 2 straplike handles on the seat that, when pulled upward, fold the wheelchair in half – very very easy folding.
This wheelchair folds down into a very small package and will fit into the trunk of almost any car (except maybe a Miata!
-
8″ wheels. Smaller wheels keep this wheelchair extremely light but means that the rider cannot wheel it themselves.
-
Convenient back pocket. When I took Mom out in her wheelchair, I liked to lighten my load (so to speak) by just storing my wallet and a phone in the back pocket. It was great!
- Seat belt secures the passenger to the chair if needed. And, padded arms mean that the ride is that much more comfortable.
- Comes in blue, black, silver or sporty (?) red.
At just over $100, the Drive Medical Economy Transport Chair is a deal. Now that Mom is gone, I use the same wheelchair to bring in my groceries or move heavy objects around the house. It’s a great tool in this way also.
Here’s some other good transport chairs on Amazon.com. All of these have at least a 4 out of 5 star rating.
