Lightweight Vests Provide Just Enough Warmth To Take The Chill Off Your Senior Citizen Friend

 Woolrich Women’s Abington VestNo matter how warm the house was (roaring fire and all that), my elderly Mom was always cold. Short of peeling off my own skin to cool down, the logical choice was to heat her up. That’s how I discovered lightweight warm vests – the perfect gift for a senior citizen loved one.

Early on cold mornings, I’d wrap her in her warm robe and layer one of these warm vests on top of the robe. She was always toasty warm when clothed in layers. If she warmed up while sitting in her chair, it was easy enough to remove the vest (no arms made it a cinch) and cool her down.

Another benefit to a lightweight vest for the elderly is that they are very easy to clean – just toss them right in to the washer on warm cycle, and pop them into the dryer on medium. Voila! No more spaghetti stains! I had a fleece vest and a down vest for my favorite elderly loved one. That way, when one was in the wash, one was already on her.

Vests are also the perfect outerwear for the elderly on chilly days, such as early Spring or Fall. Depending on what climate your elderly loved one resides in, one of these lightweight vests could also get them through balmy Winter days (think Arizona or Florida).

Light Warmth Vests

These lightweight vests are perfect for providing just the right amount of warmth while sitting in the house. Mom used to love to nap in her vest with her lap covered by a fleece blanket.
