Handheld Battery-Powered Milk Frother Whisk

 Aerolatte Milk Frother, SatinMy brother Mike gave me one of these little handheld battery-powered milk frother thingees, and I laughed right in his face. I thought it was the most ridiculous kitchen tool I’d ever seen. After all, what good is a little whisk-like implement that is only about .5″ across and runs on 2 AA batteries?!

Well, let me tell you, I had no idea how much fun I’d have using my new handheld electric whisk.

Had my dear mom been alive, I would have frothed her milk for her cappuccino every single morning; this little milk frother will give you a froth from light and wet to firm and dry.

No need to bother with the attached milk steamer on my coffee machine (too hard to clean if you ask me….). Nope, I’d whip her milk into the best froth ever with my handheld electric milk frother.

Alas, Mom is gone and I don’t usually cappuccino so I got creative and found a few more uses for this very lightweight, very portable electric handheld whisk. Now, I didn’t say I ‘never’ drink cappuccino. In fact, below is a photo of a cup of java I just made with frothed cream on top.

And, as far as this being a present for your favorite senior citizen? It’s perfect! Very lightweight and easy to handle, the handheld battery-powered whisk is very compact and easy to store in tight quarters such as a small kitchen or a nursing home room.

Additional Uses For The Handheld Battery-Powered Frother/Whisk

Since I don’t like any kitchen item that has only one use (ie, frothing milk), I used my imagination to find more ways to use this little kitchen gadget. Here’s some of my favorite used for the handheld frother:

• Easily and quickly scramble eggs! The first time I cracked 2 eggs into a bowl, added a teaspoon of milk, and grabbed my hand whisk, I was amazed at the amount of ‘fluff’ I got out of my favorite breakfast. Makes delicious scrambled eggs, omelets, and frittatas.
• If your elderly loved one adores fresh whipped cream as much as I do, this handheld whisk is a no-brainer as a Christmas stocking stuffer! Just put 3 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream along with sugar or a sweetener of their choice, turn on the whisk and you’ve got delicious whipped cream in less than a minute – about the same time it takes me with my electric beater. In comparison to my larger electric beater, this little whisk is a breeze to clean. I just submerge it in a bowl of water and soap and turn it on. Voila – clean in a second and ready for the next use!
• Whisk jello into a frothy dessert. Whipped jello appears to be a treat of the past as I haven’t seen it on a menu in ages. But, whipping jello changes the consistency of the jello into a light, airy dessert that is the perfect base for the whipped cream you just made your elderly mom….
• Make a basic meringue; it took me about 2 minutes to whisk 3 egg whites into soft peaks. Adding just one teaspoonful of room temperature water had me completing the task in well under 2 minutes. Make your favorite elderly loved one a cookie from their youth – here’s a recipe for my Mom’s favorite meringue cookies!
• Make instant breakfast drinks frothy and delicious. Add milk and a packet of your elderly loved one’s favorite breakfast shake powder and switch the handheld whisk on. You’ll be amazed at how smooth and creamy the resulting breakfast drink is – way better than a shake bottle.
• Make your own mayonnaise! This is a very cool thing to use this battery whisk for! Here’s the recipe I used to make mayonnaise to my Mom’s liking: Epicurious Homemade Mayonnaise.

So, from the list above, you can see that there are many uses for this handy kitchen gadget. And, for less than $20, they make a wonderful Christmas gift for anyone.
