Front Snap Robes Are Great For Any Senior Citizen – Especially One With Arthritic Hands
Mom’s arthritic hands made it difficult for her to do a zipper or buttons as she aged, but, a front snap robe was just the thing the doctor ordered.
And, it made me happy to see her in the morning, coming down the steps with a big smile because she easily slipped into her new robe.
When being a caregiver for the elderly, it’s a good idea to buy clothing that your elderly friend can put on and take off independently. Not only does dressing oneself make an elderly person feel good about her or his self, but, by relieving you of a dressing task, you’ll be freed up to work on other things – like preparing happy hour cocktails!

Mom preferred snap front robes that were soft and plush – if the robe had pockets in the front, it was even better (easier for her to get to her handkerchief
Note: Make sure that, when buying a robe for the elderly, it’s 100% washable. Most robes get softer and more wonderful with washings but some don’t fair nearly as well and will develop ‘pills’ with frequent washes.

Hi, Liz. I’m so sorry but that robe was donated shortly after mom died in 2012. I do remember that I bought it in Key West for her – not sure that helps at all. I’ll look around and see if I can find anything similar.
