Anti-Strip Clothing Keeps Grandma Or Grandpa From Going Au Naturale
One of the unfortunate side effects of dementia or Alzheimer’s is sometimes the need to fidget – frequently, with clothing. That’s why you might leave Grandpa sitting in his recliner in the chair, toasty in a pair of pants, and golf shirt only to return to a naked old man watching tv.
Not a pretty picture? Well, there’s ways to combat this behavior that is typical of those with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Enter anti-strip clothing.
Anti-strip clothing is clothing that is more difficult to take off. That means that a caregiver must help dress their charge, but, that’s little price to pay for keeping them comfortable, warm, and clothed.
Anti-strip clothing generally presents itself as jumpsuits which are one piece. There’s really no way for your elderly loved one to escape a one-piece garment that it took a while for a caregiver to get on them the first place. These one-piece jumpsuits come in female and male styles.
And, for elderly women, I’ve found dresses that open in the back, making it virtually impossible for them to disrobe. If they still manage to get out of their clothes, you might want to consider applauding as it will be quite the feat!
In order to protect you and the public, I’ve found some good anti-strip clothing that may keep your elderly loved one from being a menace to society.
Note: if your elderly loved one strips often, check their temperature. It might be that they’re hot or, believe it or not, cold. Also, clothing must be as soft and non-irritating as possible so remove any clothing tags.
Also, you might want to consider giving your senior citizen friend something more appropriate with which to fiddle besides their clothing. These anti-fidgeting toys can help.
Men’s Anti-Strip Clothing
No one needs to know that these jumpsuits are actually there to shield the public from a view they can’t ‘unsee’….

Anti-Strip Adaptive Clothing For Women
When it comes to finding anti-strip clothing for women with dementia or Alzheimer’s, there are many more choices.
Along with the one-piece jumpsuits, I found adaptive clothing which is meant for those who can’t easily stand to get dressed. The nice side effect of clothing that closes in the back is that it’s difficult from which to disrobe!
