Fidget Spinners May Calm The Hands And Engage The Minds Of Those Affected with Alzheimer’s or Dementia

No matter your age, humans need to be active and to play. Engaging in life, in whatever capacity, is especially important for the elderly and those living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.

One thing I like about spinners is how well they fit into your hand. As people age, arthritis and weakness are more common. Hand activities, like using spinners, have an added therapeutic benefit of keeping fingers and hands stronger and more agile which may, in turn, help keep pain and stiffness in check.

A spinner can be used by holding in one hand and using light taps to get it spinning with the other. Alternatively, it can beused on a table top.
