There’s nothing quite as stirring (or humorous) in my memory  as seeing my grandmother in the kitchen whipping up some wonderful, traditional holiday dishes.

The best part of the scene was seeing my darling little Bubbie (yiddish for Grandma) wearing a Christmas apron.

What was so funny about that scene? We are Jewish! Regardless, my Bubbie always had a wonderful sense of humor.

That’s why my Grandmother’s collection of Christmas aprons was both funny and legendary.

Bubbie collected holiday aprons. There were aprons with typical Christmas scenes like a snow-covered, cozy looking cottage. There were Christmas aprons celebrating Christmas decorations.

But, my favorite holiday apron on my Bubbie was the one you’ll see below – the one with the gingerbread man!

Bubbie would delight the family crowd by donning her gingerbread man apron when she made her famous cookies. It was a great paring of cook and dessert!

Christmas Aprons

Although there are a lot of Christmas aprons below that work mostly for women, there are other holiday aprons that work for everyone (personally, I think they all work for everyone but that’s just my opinion).

Wouldn’t it be cute to pair that gingerbread man apron with a box of gingerbread mix. That would be a great hint of what you’d like for dessert!
