It’s often difficult for a grandparent to think of good gifts for their grandchildren. In fact, there’s not a lot of personalized gifts for grandchildren on the market – but, ah, dear reader, I’ve got ideas.

Personalized gifts can be used to impart a bit of family history to the next generations. Your personalized gift will stand out on Christmas day among the newest toys, shiny bikes, and other fancy items.

While those items are great when they are shiny and new, how important will they be in one year, five years, or twenty years in the future?

That’s why personalized gifts are so wonderful to give as gifts to those you love – these are gifts that you give from your heart. They stand the test of time.

Some of these gifts below, like the memory books or recipe binders, are actually created by you, the grandparent, so you’ll want to purchase them well in advance of Christmas. They’re also great birthday gifts or even Mother’s or Father’s day gifts for your own children.

Personalized Memory Books From A Grandparent

Another of my favorite suggestions for a grandparent to give to a grandchild is a memory book.

Memory books are books that are blank when you buy them, except for a leading question on each page. One page, for example, might ask ‘What was your favorite subject in school,’ while another might be ‘How did you meet your spouse?’

If you have trouble writing, how about asking a family member to help you complete your wonderful, cherished present.

I’ve also included some interesting pens which work well for those with arthritis. My PenAgain never leaves my hand, except, of course, when I’m typing!

I think a gift of a Christmas Legos set is great for anyone but especially for a grandparent to give to a grandchild.
