I wandered across these Active Minds Puzzles when looking for fun activities for those who have dementia such as Alzheimers, Lewy Body, or any other mind-altering disease.

Unlike other jigsaw puzzles, the Active Minds brand is catering specifically to those with dementia by having very large pieces and not a lot of them! Some of their puzzles are only 13 pieces or so, allowing for more of a change of success for your elderly loved one. Other Active Minds puzzles have 35 pieces so still pretty easy to complete this type of puzzle.

And, all Active Minds puzzles are made of a tough plastic so they will hold up to many rough hands in a group setting, such as a nursing home or retirement center.

As a bonus, a lot of reviewers mention that, when their senior friends were completing the puzzle, there was a bubbling up of memories that were related. Talk about quality time!
