Nearly everywhere you go, you’ll see a fairy garden at someone’s home, in stores, or in a public garden.

In a large arboretum I visit, they have a section of the fairy gardens specifically for fairies where people of all ages can use natural materials like sticks, stones, acorns and pine cones to craft welcoming little homes for the fairies.

Yet with so many colorful and sweet accessories available for purchase, fairy gardens can also be crafted at home in anything from a large outdoor garden to a small pot that can be kept on a table indoors.

Fairy gardens offer versatility which makes them an especially wonderful option for seniors to participate at whatever level they’d like, or are able. And, they’re wonderful for grandchildren to play with when they come to visit!

Fairy gardens are fun to craft at home with friends, as group activities at senior centers, or as a fun thing to do with grandchildren.

Many fairy sets are complete with everything needed to assemble a garden, making it easy for elderly who may not get out to shop for individual pieces. Small flowering plants, mosses, or succulents can be added; or not, as desired.
